Shawn Ashmore Talks X-Men 4

iceman.jpgX-Men 3 wasn’t the worst movie in the world, but it could have been so much better. The films financial success suggested that people wanted to see the mutant freaks, so we are now getting a Wolverine spin-off. But what about X-Men 4? Will it ever happen? Well ShockTillYouDrop caught up with Shawn Ashmore who played Iceman in the trilogy, and he had a few words to say about the franchise.

Shock: You mentioned Bobby Drake earlier, so do you think we’ll ever see you play him again, especially with the way he was developed so much in the last “X-men” movie?
Ashmore: Yeah, it was great. I was waiting to do some of that stuff since the first movie. It was five years, six years in the making to really shoot ice and be in a battle and all that stuff, but honestly, I don’t know. I would love to do another film, but I think they’re doing these spin-offs and origin stories, so I can’t see in the near future there being an “X-Men 4″ but I have no idea to tell you the truth, it’s really hard to say. I’m holding my breath, waiting for it to happen, but I’m not sure if it will or not.

Shock: Hopefully, they won’t wait too long if they do get back into it, because as I said, they really turned Iceman into someone we’d want to see more of and some of the other new characters.
Ashmore:
Yeah, and again, it’s a blast. I love the fact that there is such a huge audience for “The X-Men”, characters I love and characters I’ve lived with so long that it’s really exciting when people are like, “Aw, man, I want to see another one.” That’s great, and that gives me a boost to hear that stuff, so that’s really cool.

It’s good to see that he still enjoys the role and the franchise. I think that some of the actors who had to endure 5+ hours of make-up everyday will not be as enthusiastic about an X-Men 4, but I am sure the right price may bring them back.

I am thinking that FOX will get Wolverine out, and if it does well they will do Wolverine: 2 Slashed 2 Furious and then the inevitable Wolverine: The Most Overused Character Ever…in 3D! . Then hopefully enough time will have passed and FOX can start on that Young X-Men movie Zak Penn has been talking about. Or they could pay Halle Berry and the rest of the cast $40 million each to return and make an X-Men 4, which follows on 10 years after the events of X-Men 3. Either way, it’s a long time before we will see Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman on screen again, if ever. However, Shawn should be happy that his characters best moment of the trilogy with this…

Movies You Probably Don’t Know About But Should: The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

It amazes me that some of the movies being produced today haven’t gotten a lot of air time yet. We get all of this information about movies that are still in pre-production or even DEVELOPMENT, yet nothing about some potentially huge movies that are in the works or even very near completion.  So, I’m going to be bringing you some of the ones I think you should watch out for…

The first is called The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, set for release on December 19. Here’s the premise of the movie:

Tells the story of Benjamin Button, a man who starts aging backwards with bizarre consequences.

This movie is being produced by Paramount Pictures for about $150 million. It is based on the story by F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby) of the same name.

Still surprised you haven’t heard of it yet? How about I throw in the names of a few of the cast members: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, and Tilda Swinton… three A-List actors (now that Tilda is an Oscar winner!).

As of right now there are no official pictures of the film.  A $150 million movie and it hasn’t even begun to blip on the radar?  I hope they start their advertising soon!

Based on this information, would you go see this movie?

Hayden Christensen As Superman?

Yes, you read that right…Hayden Christensen As Superman.

Cinema Blend got word from a rather dominating female who pinned Adam Brody up against a wall and beat him until he revealed information about the Justice League movie to her. Brody is playing The Flash, along with Common as Green Arrow and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman. Adam Brody was in a bar when confronted by the beast, and here is what happened.

“I asked Brody to sign a napkin, and asked what he/they were doing here. They’re in BC to check out locations for their new superhero movie Justice League is Mortal. Brody pointed at Miller and said “George is our director”. He said he’s playing The Flash, Common is playing Green Arrow (or Lantern, one or the other), Armie Hammer (sounded like Arm and Hammer) is Batman, someone from “mad max” is Martian Man-hunter (didn’t catch the name) and Hayden Christensen is Superman. Brody also nodded to the woman to his right and said “she (he said her name but i didnt catch it) is in it too”. Oh, and they had lots of drinks.”

So either Adam Brody is either A) drunk or B) scared or C) Hayden Christensen may actually be putting on the famous cape.

Everyone can understand why Brandon Routh was cast as Superman in Superman Returns, because he looks the part. He has the dark hair, tall figure and muscles. But I can’t see why they would cast some like Hayden Christensen as Superman…oh wait, I can. It’s Hollywood!

I can’t see it. Lets hope Adam Brody was drunk out of his face!

Bruno Spotted Filming And We Have Footage To Prove It!

We have been getting reports here and there of a flamboyant foreign journalist doing bizarre things, and now we have a new one. There is no doubt that is it Sasha Baron Cohen making fools out of the American public, and in some cases, himself. A church in Kansas reported that a ‘European’ crew showed up to their Easter play in chains. But in this case, the church sniffed out the prank and stopped what was likely Cohen’s crew from disrupting the play.

Local newspapers in Kansas have also reported that a “European man” was “putting security on red alert” by “stripping down to tight shorts and dancing in the lobby of Wichita Airport”. Luckily someone had a recording device and filmed part of it before one of the crew tried to stop them. Check it out:

Brüno will be released later this year and I can wait! It is going to be hilarious!

Thomas Sangster Talks Tintin!

The Daily Mail reported that Thomas Sangster had landed the role of Tintin in…Tintin, and now they have had the chance to talk to him about the role.

The teenager, who is taking A levels in art and media studies and works part-time at a garage, admits he had not read the Tintin books until a few days ago.

He said: “I love the cartoons. I never saw the books because I was never that big on reading. Tintin is like a super boy scout. He would hit people over the head with bottles. He was cool.”

I suppose that is the typical response from a teenager, ‘I don’t read and violence is cool’. No doubt Steven Spielberg hired him because he has some talent, which should be interesting to see through all of the Beowulf style motion capture that will be going on.

Andy Serkis is already on board as Captain Haddock, and some filming is taking place as you read this. Filming on the film will officially start over in New Zealand later this year.
