Hasbro Addresses G.I. Joe Rumors

Ever since it was announced, there has been quite a few rumors swirling around the plot of the G.I. Joe movie. Some claimed the Joes would be taking on Al-Qaeda. Others said the Joes bring the fight to the American borders. Luckily, earlier today, Hasbro released a statement regarding the upcoming, live-action G.I. Joe movie, directed by Stephen Sommers. I, for one, am extremely happy about what they had to say. Hasbro's G.I. Joe Team wanted to take this opportunity to clarify some of the facts regarding the G.I. Joe live-action movie that we are developing with Paramount Pictures. First and

The Joker is getting into Ledger’s head and pollution stops Batman!

The New York Times spoke to Heath Ledger about his role in The Dark Knight. Playing the iconic character seems to be taking its tole on the actor... He is here in London filming the latest episode of the "Batman" franchise, "The Dark Knight." It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy" he said cheerfully — and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much. "Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," he said

Bruno gets a HUGE title!

The title for this film has been out for a while but I don't think many people have caught it. The title for Sacha Baron Cohen's follow up to Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is... Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt A word that comes to mind at this moment in time is 'lol?'. After Borats sucess Cohen did a few big movies such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Madagascar

Wolverine will be ‘just as ambitious as any previous X-Men flick’

When the first Wolverine solo film was first talked about, I just thought FOX were getting cheap and wanted the same amount of profits with less input. They had a franchise that has brought in over half a billion dollars so why not try and get more for less? Then they gave it the name X-Men Origins: Wolverine which is probably for marketing purposes as people are familiar with the X-Men name. If ever Disney decided to do another Pirates of The Caribbean, but without most of the original cast, only Johnny Depp, I am sure they

October Site Update

UpdateSite

Filmonic has been up and running for just over a month now, so I thought I'd give everyone a little update on how the site is doing, and what the future of Filmonic holds. I started the site because I enjoy reading movie news, and wanted an extra hobby that I enjoy. Within a month the site is getting around 200 visitors a day, apart from when an article gets popular on Digg, and the hits get above 6,000. Because of this I am changing hosts so that the site

Trailer: The Golden Compass

A new trailer for has appeared online for The Golden Compass, I've lost count how many there have been, but I'll call it the sixth. The effects are practically finished so everything looks rather amazing, especially the armoured polar bears. I haven't read the book so I am going to see it simply because polar bears, wearing armour, will be battling and one is voiced by Ian McKellen. You can check the HD trailer here

More Post-Strike ‘Heroes’ News

The ever-so talented Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide has just confirmed something I heard a rumor about yesterday. In the unlucky event that some sort of agreement is made very soon between the WGA and AMPTP, totally disregard what I'm about to say next. However, if not, expect Heroes to end this season a lot sooner than expected. Rather than suffer the fate of a half-finished season, inside sources say that the show is going back to shoot an alternative ending to the episode that is airing on December 3rd. The episode itself was said to be the end
