After Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at the Oscars last year, including a Best Director win for Danny Boyle, the director spent a few months deciding what his next film would be. Eventually it was announced that Boyle would be directing 127 Hours, a film based on the story of Aron Ralston (played by James Franco), the mountain climber who amputated his own arm to free himself after being trapped by a boulder for nearly five days.
Fox Searchlight has released the first teaser trailer for the film, which you can watch below.
The script was written by Simon Beaufoy, who won an Oscar for his Slumdog Millionaire screenplay, and Fox Searchlight plan to release 127 Hours in November in the US. The films has also been selected as the closing picture at this year’s London film festival.
